Our Board of Directors includes:

Thomas E. Jernigan, Jr.

Tom Jernigan, Jr. attended Marion Military Institute and the University of Alabama.

Tom has been employed at Marathon Corporation for the past 15 years, serving in many different capacities until 2003 when he was named President, the position he holds today. In addition, Tom has been a Director of The Bank, subsequently Superior Bank Corp, for over ten years.

Tom is also the Director of the Jernigan Foundation, where he oversees the contributions to and support of many of this states’ charitable organizations – ranging from academic to healthcare.  Mr. Jernigan also serves on the boards of many area charitable organizations such as The Robert E. Reed Foundation, The Baptist Health Foundation and the Bryant Jordan Scholarship Foundation. Tom is the Chairman of the Bo Johnson Memorial Foundation to Benefit Esophageal Cancer Research.  Tom was formerly a member of the board of directors for the Birmingham Chapter of the American Heart Association and The UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is currently working on the creation of the Thomas E. Jernigan, Sr. Memorial History Museum – which has the goal of educating the public on the history of the City of Birmingham.  He is also President of the Birmingham Athletic Club.

Mr. Jernigan became interested in Paul Hashemi’s vision for his Honor Our Troops Foundation and is responsible for gifting the seed money in order to help Paul get started in bringing his dream into reality.

Donald Wright

Donald Wright – Donald is a principal with Morris Avenue Partners, LLC where he provides capital and financial advisory services to middle market companies.  Donald graduated from Christian Brothers College, was a partner with Coopers & Lybrand, the predecessor firm to PricewaterhouseCoopers, and has served as the Executive Vice President of Finance for Saks Incorporated.

Donald and his wife, Mona, have two children and reside in Birmingham, Alabama where they are active in Shades Mountain Baptist Church.

Guy McCullough

Guy has almost three decades of experience providing advertising, marketing, public relations and public affairs counsel to companies ranging from the largest multi-national corporations to family-owned businesses. He has helped clients manage their brands on the Internet for more than 14 years and was the 1992 winner of the Forbes-McKay Marketer of the Year Award from the American Marketing Association.

In 1986, Guy formed McCullough Advertising, where he continues as creative director. He is also a principal in Agile Brands, LLC, along with partner Scott Schram. Agile Brands provided the Honor Our Troops Web site as a donation to this worthy cause.

Executive Director, Paul Hashemi

Paul’s commitment to helping military families is a long-standing one. He served as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle Crewmember and Air Defense Artilleryman with the U.S. Army before being honorably discharged for medical reasons.

Today, Paul is a fitness trainer and sports & rehabilitation massage therapist with his own small business. He’s also a husband and a father of one daughter, with a second one on the way.
